That's the $250 million superyacht that has officially been declared the property of the Malaysian government, and it is therefore free to sell off the craft that is reported by CNBC to be "linked to funds allegedly stolen from 1Malaysia Development Berhad, a state-run investment fund set up by former Prime Minister Najib Razak."

Bidding on Equanimity will require a deposit of a million dollars. The auction will be carried out by London house Burgess Yachts, and in their listing for the yacht they give a glimpse into the process by which it will be sold:

"The judicial sales process will follow strict guidelines, but essentially shall be by the submission of sealed bids by qualified potential buyers, to be opened by the Sheriff of the High Court of Malaya in November/December 2018. We are advised that in accordance with Admiralty law, the judicial sale will provide the buyer with an internationally recognized ownership title free of mortgage, attachment and all encumbrances."

Naturally, the listing also goes into the juicy details about Equanimity itself, an interesting way to look at the idea that crime doesn't pay. It measures in at 300 feet, with room for up to 22 passengers, plus a crew of up to 31. Then there are the amenities on board, which include a health center, helipad, swimming pool, and "impressive beach club."

1Malaysia Development Berhad, commonly shortened to 1MDB, is the center of a big corruption scandal in Malaysia. Najib Razak, former prime minister of the country, is facing more than 30 criminal charges, with money laundering and breach of trust among them, while former treasury chief Irwan Serigar Abdullah is up on charges of criminal breach of trust – and neither of them get to use this yacht anymore.

Khabib Nurmagomedov's manager Ali Abdelaziz has become well known for his enthusiastic public statements in support of his client, and he recently took to one of his favored outlets (TMZ) to lay down a very bold claim about Khabib's short-term prospects with regard to future fights. According to him, since Khabib is now a "bigger star" than rival Conor McGregor, he deserves even more money in exchange for stepping into the ring: A line Abdelaziz draws at at least $50 million.

He goes on, in characteristically bold fashion:

"Come on, man! You have a guy meeting with Putin, [President of Turkey] Erdogan. And, the other guy selling liquor on the corner store. It's not even in the f**king same planet."

Of course, Ali's claim that Khabib has now become a "global superstar" on a completely different planet from McGregor doesn't mean that a rematch is impossible. He says that Khabib would be happy to beat McGregor down again — if the price is right, naturally. And as we all know, there are prices in the world of mixed martial arts that go beyond money:

"I really want to see [Conor] drink his own blood … He talked a lot of sh*t. He didn't back it up. Embarrassed himself in front of his whole beautiful country of Ireland, his father, his mother, his wife."

That was a bit of a change from some of Ali's earlier statements to the press, particularly a recent boast that McGregor doesn't deserve a rematch with Khabib on the grounds that "he's a quitter."

But, the fight world will just have to wait and see if Abdelaziz really gets Khabib a $50 million check for his next fight, or if a Khabib/McGregor rematch is in the cards. But to see things from Abdelaziz's point of view, both things seem to be almost inevitable.

There's a standard bit of legalese that's built into a lot of big time contracts with big media companies, like Megyn Kelly's three-year, $69 million contract with NBC: A non-disclosure agreement. Now that Kelly is being fired for a combination of low ratings and thinking blackface Halloween costumes are OK, NBC has cause to be thankful that they included such an agreement in their contract with her, since she's demonstrated in the past that she's more than happy to dish dirt on her employers (her recent book Settle for More pulled few punches regarding the atmosphere of sexual harassment and discrimination at her old workplace, Fox News). But now, Kelly's attorneys are reportedly asking for a little extra money just to get her to honor that confidentiality agreement: $10 million, as first reported by the Daily Mail.

That's on top of the reported $38 million NBC has offered Kelly, which is supposed to be the full remainder of her three-year contract, after only a little over a year at the network. And according to a source close to the TV personality, the negotiations between her and NBC have reached "all out war":

"She doesn't just want the remainder of her $69 million contract, she wants more money on top as compensation for what she believes is NBC's attempt to not just have her off the air but to end her career."

However, Kelly's attorney Bryan Freedman says that the report that she wants extra money to honor a non-disclosure agreement are not true, and that the story has in fact been planted by NBC News chief Andy Lack:

"Out of respect for the discussions, I am not going to share more details but any suggestion that Megyn is looking or asking for more than her contract is untrue. This is clearly planted by NBC News to continue its mission to harm Megyn and gain some sort of leverage. It won't work. Andy Lack needs to stop."

Things have deteriorated from there, with both sides accusing the other of underhanded deeds in order to serve their own causes. Negotiations, meanwhile, are reportedly ongoing.

Looking around the world today, it can become tempting to wonder if anyone is taking any serious steps to protect the natural environment in what seems to be an increasingly perilous set of circumstances for the natural world. Swiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyss is one ultra-wealthy individual who seems serious about doing what he can in that regard, taking to The New York Times op-ed page to announce a pledge of $1 billion to put 30 percent of the planet under protection by the year 2030.

As it stands now, only 15 percent of land and seven percent of the oceans have been firmly protected in their natural state, and Wyss' overall goal is to get both of those figures up as high as possible in order to conserve the planet's supply of resources like clean water and breathable air. As he puts it in his op-ed:

"Every one of us — citizens, philanthropists, business and government leaders — should be troubled by the enormous gap between how little of our natural world is currently protected and how much should be protected … It is a gap that we must urgently narrow, before our human footprint consumes the earth's remaining wild places."

The billion dollars will be given through Wyss' own Wyss Foundation over the next ten years, with an eye towards getting as much land as possible designated as public national parks, wildlife refuges, or marine reserves, which he says remain the best ways to keep land and other natural resources as well preserved as they can be. In addition, Wyss is also funding research efforts at the University of Bern to determine the best ways to carry out these conservation aims.

This isn't Wyss' first large gift towards the cause of environmental conservation, although it is his largest. Previously, he made a donation of $450 million towards conserving wildlife and their natural habitats across 40 million acres on four continents.

Ye Jianming is a 41-year-old Chinese oil tycoon who went on a spending spree, picking up some of the spendiest real estate in New York City. He spent $83 million and had plans to buy $80 million more but he disappeared in early 2018. Ye had ties to the intelligence unit of the People's Liberation Army according to sources close to him. The properties he bought or expressed interest in included a penthouse he purchased from a top Wall Street banker, and a townhouse that formerly belonged to a billionaire friend of Donald Trump.

In May 2017, Ye spent $50.55 million to buy former Barclays CEO Bob Diamond's penthouse at 15 Central Park West. The 5,278 square foot apartment has four bedrooms, a library, and an eat in kitchen. In June 2017, he dropped nearly $33 million on a 4,028 square foot apartment on the 86^th floor at 432 Park Avenue. The unit was then put up for rent for $80,000 a month.

Ye paid cash for both of these properties.

Last December, Ye entered into a contract to buy an $80 million townhouse owned by the NHL's Florida Panthers owner Vincent Viola at 12 East 69^thStreet. Viola was briefly the nominee for Secretary of the Army. The 20,000 square foot townhouse has its own movie theater. The deal would have set the record for the most expensive townhouse ever sold in New York City at the time, but the deal fell apart in early 2018 at about the same time as Ye went missing.

Ye is not the first high profile, wealthy, Chinese person to go missing. Actress Fan Bingbing has been missing since last summer. Casino tycoon Yang Zhuhui went missing in August.

Zhou Chengjian, a Chinese billionaire with a net worth of $1.4 billion, went missing on January 6, 2016. Club Med owner Guo Guangchang went missing on December 10, 2015.

Ye is reportedly under investigation in China.

Ye is the chairman of Shanghai based CEFC China Energy, which has been expanding abroad aggressively in the past several years. It acquired $9 billion worth of shares in Russia's Rosneft energy giant, more than $1 billion in investments in energy companies in the Czech Republic, and more deals in Abu Dhabi, Romania, and Singapore. Ye's company has also purchased pricey real estate in Shanghai.

With Ye's whereabouts unknown, his empire is under threat. CEFC has been selling off assets and canceling deals.

In November 2017, a former Hong Kong official named Patrick Ho, who was one of Ye's top contacts in the Chinese government was indicted by the U.S. Justice Department on allegations of bribing African leaders through a charity that was funded by Ye's CEFC. Ye wasn't named in the indictment. Ho is challenging the charges against him.

On news of his disappearance, shares in companies tied to CEFC China Energy plunged on the Hong Kong, Singapore, and Shenzhen stock exchanges and wiped out $630 million in market value in one hour.

Going into last night's election for Illinois Governor, Hyatt hotel heir J.B. Pritzker had a 16 point lead over the incumbent Republican, Bruce Rauner. Perhaps not surprisingly, after all the votes were counted, Pritzker took the prize to officially become the Governor-elect of Illinois. With a personal net worth of $3.4 billion, J.B. is now the richest sitting-politician in America. Pritzer's $3.4 billion net worth tops Donald Trump's $3 billion net worth by $400 million.

Pritzker spent an astonishing $172 million of his own money to fund his gubernatorial run. In case you were wondering, that is NOT the most money ever spent by an individual on their own campaign for Governor. That record belongs to Meg Whitman who spent $144 million running for Governor of California in 2014. A race she LOST. Ouch. Third place goes to Rick Scott who spent $60 million of his own money leading up to his successful 2010 Florida Gubernatorial race.

With his win, J.B. Pritzker unseats Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam as the richest Governor in the United States. Bill's father Jim founded truck chain stop Pilot Corporation, today known as Pilot Flying J. Bill Haslam's net worth $2.1 billion.

J.B. Pritzker is one of 11 billionaires in the Pritzker family. They are the 15^th wealthiest family in the world with a combined net worth of $33.5 billion. J.B.'s grandfather Abram Pritzker, the son of Ukrainian immigrants, began investing in Chicago real estate in the 1930s depression. Abram had three sons who expanded the family business through acquisitions and expansion. In 1957 the sons bought the Hyatt House hotel in Los Angeles. This would eventually be the cornerstone of a hotel empire that spans the globe today.

Abram's son Robert used his inheritance to launch the Marmon Group, a conglomerate of industrial service and manufacturing companies. In 2007, Warren Buffett acquired 60% of Marmon for $4.5 billion.

The Pritzker's own cruise line Royal Caribbean and formerly owned Braniff airlines, McCall's magazine, and the Trans Union credit bureau.

Scott Olson/Getty ImagesIt has been a dirty race for the governor's mansion in Springfield, Illinois with Rauner comparing Pritzker to disgraced former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich, who was a close friend of Pritzker's. Rauner has also dubbed Pritzker "The Porcelain Prince." Pritzker paid $14.5 million for his Gold Coast Chicago mansion in 2006. A few years later, he also bought the mansion next door for $3.7 million. He got a property tax bill from Cook County for the second house for $117,087 – which would value the home at $6.25 million.

Pritzker appealed that enormous tax bill on the grounds that the second mansion had fallen into disrepair. He told the courts that it had no functioning bathrooms or kitchen. He won the case and as a result the state of Illinois reduced the property value to $1.1 million. That cut the property tax bill to $19,719 – an 83% savings. Pritzker also received $43,000 in refunds of property taxes paid between 2012 and 2014. It was later revealed that he disabled the toilets. He agreed to repay $330,000 in refunded property taxes.

In Illinois, four of the nine governors who preceded Rauner went to jail. He is predicting that Pritzker would eventually be the fifth Illinois governor to go to jail if he is elected.

Ten of Pritzker's African American and Latino campaign staffers filed a lawsuit against him on October 16^th for racial discrimination.

"Black and Latino workers at JB Pritzker for Governor are marginalized, with their efforts put under a microscope and micromanaged while their white counterparts are given autonomy and concessions. As if the intentional herding of Black and Latino workers into specific areas were not bad enough, the few workers of color who were placed in majority-white working environments were likewise subjected to overt and invidious racial discrimination."

This offseason is going to be lucrative for Bryce Harper. The 26-year-old All-Star is one of 164 free agents on the market, but he's going to make more than anyone else available. Just how big his contract will be remains to be seen; however, he's already turned down a massive deal.

Harper rejected a 10-year offer worth $300 million from the Nationals late this past season. The Nationals wanted to lock up their star, but Harper felt $30 million per year for the next decade wasn't enough money. He's looking to land something worth $400 million, which would be the richest baseball contract ever, by far.

The Nationals have removed their 10-year, $300 million offer, but still remain hopeful they can keep Harper in town.

The six-time All-Star has hit 184 home runs and driven in 521 RBI over his seven-year career. He led the league in home runs, runs scored, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and OPS in 2015 when he won the AL MVP award.

Wherever Harper ends up, we know there's one place he won't land: New York. A source close to Harper's situation said: "he's not going to be a Yankee."

We may not find out anything in the next couple of weeks, either. Harper's agent, Scott Boras, has a history of extending contract talks with his free agent players beyond the holiday season. Boras also has Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg as clients.

In the meantime, Harper will continue to field offers from other teams in hopes of landing a record-setting deal. And the Nationals will have to prepare for the very real possibility that they may lose their superstar.
